ASA - American Society on Aging

Continuing education credits (CEUs) are available if you are licensed in a field or profession from one of the boards and associations listed below. If you are not sure whether your licensing organization will accept ASA CEUs please contact them for clarification.

CONTINUING EDUCATION BOARD APPROVAL LIST

Assisted Living Facilities Administrators: Approval by the California Board of Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) is pending.

Care/Case Managers: The National Academy of Certified Care Managers (NACCM) will accept proof of attendance toward continuing education requirements for re-certification of CMC (Care Manager Certified).

Approval by the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) has been granted. Provider # 00059517.

Certified Health Education Specialists: Approval by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc (CHES) is pending.

Counselors: ASA is an approved provider for the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).

Drug and Alcohol Counselors: ASA is an approved provider of continuing education for the California Association of Drug and Alcohol Counselors (CAADAC). Provider #4C-98-383-0206.

Mental Health Professionals/Social Workers: ASA is an approved provider of continuing education for MFTs and LCSWs for the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (CBBS).

ASA is an approved provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Provider # 1068. These continuing education hours are accepted in 34 U.S. states, possessions and Canadian provinces.

Approval for social work continuing education by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is pending.

As a CSWE accredited program, The Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research at Bryn Mawr College is a pre-approved provider of continuing education for social workers in Pennsylvania and many states.

Nurses: ASA is an approved provider of continuing education for the California Board of Registered Nursing (CA-BRN). Provider # CEP-2180. They will accept continuing education hours for the state of California.

ASA is an approved provider of continuing education by the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers Commission on Accreditation. Their continuing education hours are accepted in 48 US states except California and Iowa.

Nursing Home Administrators: ASA is a registered sponsor by the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators (NAB). NAB is recognized in 45 states.

Occupational Therapists: Approval from The American Occupational Therapy Association has been granted.

Physicians: Approval pending from the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Recreational Therapists: Continuing Education Units (CEUS) for Recreation Therapists through the American Therapeutic Recreation Association is pending. ATRA has been reviewed and approved as a CEU Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

Those who attend the conference and hold a license from a country other than the United States may also be eligible for continuing education credit.

Please consult your individual licensing boards for specific requirements. There is a processing fee of $10 for one or two pre-conference intensives and/or Special Program and $40 for the entire Joint Conference. Credit is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis; half-day intensives are 3.5 contact hours, full-day intensives are 7.0 contact hours, and up to 32.5 contact hours can be earned for Joint Conference attendance. The number of contact hours earned at each of the Special Programs varies.

A Certificate of Attendance is useful if you need approval from a board not specifically approved for credit, or to verify your attendance. They are available for a $10 administrative fee. Specific forms are required to receive either certificate. They will be available at the Registration Desk.
