Continuing Education Information

Continuing education units (CEUs) will be available for a number of professions, including the following:

Assisted Living Facilities Administrators

California Board of Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE): ASA has been approved for CEUs by RCFE. Approval # 1000054-740-2.

Care/Case Managers

The National Academy of Certified Care Managers (NACCM) will accept proof of attendance toward continuing education requirements for re-certification of CMC (Care Manager Certified).

The Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC): ASA is an approved provider through CCMC. Provider # 00059517.

Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES)

National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc  (NCHEC).ASA is an approved provider for CEUs by NCHEC.  Approval # SEP3078.

Counselors

National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC): ASA is an approved provider by NBCC. Provider #05438.

Drug and Alcohol Counselors

California Association of Drug and Alcohol Counselors (CAADAC): ASA is an approved provider of continuing education for CAADAC. Provider #4C-98-383-0206.

Mental Health Professionals/Social Workers

Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB): ASA is an approved provider for social work continuing education by the ASWB through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Provider # 1068. These continuing education hours are accepted in 34 U.S. states, possessions and Canadian provinces.

National Association of Social Workers (NASW): ASA is an approved provider for social work continuing education by NASW, Approval # 886341369. These continuing education hours are accepted in 41 U.S. states.

  • *These CEU’s are for ASA events only. ASA does not give credit for NASW Annual Practice Conference days 1 and 2. Please refer to NASW directly for CEU credit for those two days.

California Board of Behavioral Sciences (CBBS):ASA is an approved provider of continuing education for CBBS.  Approval # PCE-3572.

Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work - Pennsylvania: Continuing education credits are provided in conjunction with Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.  As a social work education institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, Bryn Mawr College is authorized by the Pennsylvania Board of Social Work Examiners to provide continuing education to meet the Pennsylvania social work licensure requirements.

Nurses

The California Board of Registered Nursing (CA-BRN): ASA is an approved provider for California Nurses by (CA-BRN), Provider #CEP2180.  CA-BRN may be accepted by other state nursing boards.  Please check with your state board before filling out a CEU application.    This certificate must be retained by the licensee for a period of four years after the course ends. 

Nursing Home Administrators

National Association of Boards of Examiners of Long Term Care Administrators (NAB): ASA is a Registered Sponsor of professional continuing education with NAB which has approved this program for the number of clock hours listed under their sponsor agreement with NAB/NCERS.  State licensure boards, however, have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses. Provider #01015-108-RS.  NAB is recognized in 45 states.

Occupational Therapists

American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA): ASA is an approved provider of continuing education for AOTA. Approval #3312. The assignment of AOTA CEUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by AOTA. 

Physicians

American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP):  ASA approval for CEUs by AAFP is pending.

Recreational Therapists

American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA): ASA is an approved provider for CEUs by ATRA.  Approval #0903115NV.

 

Social Workers

Credit:
Half-day sessions = 3.0 hours
Full-day sessions = 6.0 hours.
Total number of credits available = 28

Costs:
Continuing education credit is available to conference participants who need to satisfy the continuing education requirements of state or professional licensing boards and/or associations.  A nominal administrative fee of $60.00 for the entire Aging in America Conference is charged to cover the cost of issuing certificates, processing continuing education credits with accrediting organizations, and maintaining records.

TO RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
A Certificate of Attendance form will be available at the on-site registration desk.  Complete the forms and return to the registration desk with the fee of $20.
