The American Society on Aging is pleased to announce that the MetLife Foundation has extended its support of ASA’s MindAlert program for 2010. With the generous funding from the MetLife Foundation, the American Society on Aging continues to conduct MindAlert, a multifaceted program for the dissemination of current information on research and innovative programs in the non-profit sector that help older adults maintain and enhance their cognitive and mental function in their later years.

Now in its tenth year, the MindAlert program is comprised of three major components:

  1. The MindAlert Awards Program recognizes innovations in mental fitness programming for older adults in three distinct categories. Winners have the opportunity to introduce their programs to the public at the awards event held at the at the ASA Aging in America Conference. 2. The MindAlert Trainer’s Bureau Program is a national educational opportunity for host organizations throughout the country to learn and replicate cognitive fitness programs chosen from the MindAlert award winners.  Click here to learn more about the program, eligibility requirements and how to apply.
  3. The MindAlert Lecture series serves as an educational tool linking research with practice and policy. Click here to view past years’ lectures sponsored by the MetLife Foundation.
